This Educational Resource Agreement (“Agreement”) governs access to and use of educational materials provided by YFL Project Inc., operating as The Youth Financial Literacy Project (“YFLP”).

By accessing, viewing, downloading, presenting, assigning, or otherwise using YFLP educational resources, you agree to the terms below.

1. Ownership

Unless otherwise stated, YFLP curriculum, lesson screens, presentations, assessments, teacher materials, graphics, activities, worksheets, and related educational resources are owned by YFL Project Inc.

YFLP materials may be available at no cost, but free access does not transfer ownership or place the materials in the public domain.

All rights not specifically granted in this Agreement are reserved by YFL Project Inc.

2. Individual Use

Individuals may use publicly available YFLP educational resources for personal, noncommercial learning.

Individuals may:

  • View and complete YFLP lessons.
  • Use interactive lesson screens.
  • Complete quizzes, activities, and assessments made available to them.
  • Take personal notes.
  • Print or save materials only when YFLP specifically provides that option.

Individual access does not permit redistribution, resale, republication, or rebranding of YFLP materials.

3. Educator Use

Educators with authorized access may use YFLP materials for classroom instruction.

Authorized educators may:

  • Display YFLP lesson screens and presentations to students.
  • Use YFLP materials during classroom instruction.
  • Assign YFLP lessons to students.
  • Use Guided Lesson features.
  • Use YFLP assessments and classroom activities.
  • Provide student-facing YFLP materials to their own students when those materials are intended for student use.
  • Make reasonable instructional adjustments while teaching.

Educators do not receive ownership of YFLP materials.

4. School, District, and Organization Use

Schools, districts, and approved organizations may use YFLP resources through authorized YFLP accounts and access permissions.

Authorized organizations may allow their approved staff and students to use resources made available to them.

Restricted resources may include:

  • Teacher presentations
  • Guided Lesson tools
  • Teacher guides
  • Answer keys
  • Classroom management tools
  • Student response tools
  • Analytics
  • Administrative resources
  • Downloadable teacher materials

Access may only be shared with users authorized under the applicable school, district, or organization account.

5. Permitted Classroom Adaptation

Teachers may make reasonable changes for instruction, including:

  • Adding explanations.
  • Changing examples.
  • Adjusting pacing.
  • Adding discussion questions.
  • Selecting only part of a lesson.
  • Providing accommodations.
  • Adding their own supplemental activities.

These changes are allowed for classroom use only.

Modified YFLP materials may not be publicly redistributed or presented as a separate curriculum without written permission from YFLP.

6. Prohibited Uses

Unless YFLP provides prior written permission or applicable law permits otherwise, users may not:

  • Reproduce substantial portions of YFLP resources for redistribution.
  • Upload YFLP curriculum or presentations to another public website or learning platform.
  • Publish YFLP materials in a public file repository.
  • Share restricted teacher resources with unauthorized users.
  • Provide school-only resources to another school, district, or organization.
  • Sell or resell YFLP materials.
  • Charge others specifically for access to YFLP materials without authorization.
  • Sublicense YFLP materials.
  • Remove YFLP copyright notices or branding.
  • Rebrand YFLP resources under another name or organization.
  • Claim YFLP materials as their own work.
  • Modify and redistribute YFLP resources as a separate curriculum or product.
  • Use substantial portions of YFLP resources to create a competing educational product, curriculum, platform, or course.
  • Publish answer keys or restricted educator materials for public access.
  • Circumvent YFLP access controls or account restrictions.

7. Sharing With Students

Authorized educators may share student-facing materials with students they teach when necessary for instruction.

This may include classroom display, YFLP platform access, assignments, and materials specifically designated for student use.

This permission does not allow students or educators to redistribute the materials outside the permitted educational setting.

8. Copyright Notices

Copyright notices, ownership notices, trademarks, and YFLP branding contained in YFLP materials must not be removed or concealed.

YFLP resources may display notices such as:

9. YFLP Name, Logo, and Branding

The names The Youth Financial Literacy Project, YFLP, the YFLP logo, and related branding belong to YFL Project Inc.

Permission to use YFLP educational materials does not automatically permit use of YFLP branding for advertising, endorsements, sponsorship claims, partnerships, or other promotional purposes.

Users may not represent that YFLP endorses, sponsors, or partners with them unless YFLP has provided written authorization.

10. Student-Created Work

Students generally retain ownership of original work they create in response to YFLP lessons, including original written responses, projects, and notes, subject to applicable school or platform terms.

YFLP ownership of its educational materials does not give YFLP ownership of independently created student work.

11. Third-Party Materials

YFLP resources may include references, links, quotations, examples, trademarks, or materials belonging to third parties.

Third-party materials remain subject to the rights and terms of their respective owners.

This Agreement applies only to materials owned or licensed by YFL Project Inc.

12. Fair Use and Legal Rights

Nothing in this Agreement is intended to eliminate or restrict any rights available under applicable law, including fair use and other copyright exceptions.

13. Permission Requests

Users who want to use YFLP resources in a way not permitted by this Agreement may request written permission from YFLP.

Requests should include:

  • The resource being requested.
  • How it will be used.
  • Who will receive or view it.
  • Whether it will be modified.
  • Whether it will be distributed.
  • Whether the proposed use is commercial or noncommercial.

No additional permission is granted unless YFLP provides written approval.

14. Access and Termination

YFLP may suspend or terminate access to restricted resources when a user, educator, school, district, or organization materially violates this Agreement or other applicable YFLP terms.

Termination of access does not transfer ownership of previously accessed materials or authorize continued redistribution of restricted resources.

15. Updates to This Agreement

YFLP may update this Agreement from time to time as its curriculum, platform, programs, and services change.

The most current version will be made available through the YFLP website.
