Account access and school records have different permissions. Use these guides to understand who can see information and what to do next.
For students & minors
Use fictional financial examples. Do not put passwords, bank details, your home address, or Social Security numbers in lesson answers. Teachers review assigned work; student responses are not public.
Teens can register directly. Under-13 accounts require verified parent or school authorization before account details are collected. School enrollment requires a reviewed school and approved access.
Student privacy guidanceFor parents & guardians
Family access requires a school-issued link to a specific child. Only shared learning progress and teacher feedback are available; parents cannot edit student responses or grades.
Ask the school or published privacy contact about a child’s records so parental authority can be verified.
Parent access guideFor schools & districts
Before real student onboarding, establish the appropriate school authorization or verified parental consent, notices, agreements, retention and deletion procedures, and incident response.
A signup checkbox or access code does not replace these preparations. Restrict staff access and deactivate memberships when access should end.
School data guidanceAn adult starts the public consent process. A reviewed signed parental return or school educational authorization leads to a one-use signup authorization. Do not provide child account information before authorization.
