Assignments, review & revisions
Understand the complete lesson-to-feedback workflow and assignment statuses.
The learning cycle
The school publishes a lesson. Its assigned class teacher creates an assignment with a saved copy of that lesson. Students start an attempt, complete every section and required response, and submit. The teacher reads the work, releases a grade and feedback, and may request revision.
What each status means
Not started: no attempt yet. In progress: the student is working and can save responses. Submitted: responses are locked for review. Needs revision: the teacher requests a new attempt, subject to the attempt limit. Completed: the teacher has completed the review without requesting revision. Finishing lesson sections alone does not mark the assignment completed.
Release times, due dates, and snapshots
Scheduled assignments become visible when released. Due dates help organize work; check the date shown in your workspace. Students can download their assignment calendar. Published lesson changes do not rewrite existing assignments because assignments preserve a lesson snapshot. Teachers can edit assignment instructions and the due date without replacing the saved lesson content.
Saving and retrying
Use Complete & next, the outline, or Save & exit to save lesson work. Wait for the saved message. If saving fails, keep the page open and retry; the current text remains on that page. Avoid editing the same attempt in multiple tabs. Submit only when all sections and required activities are complete. After submission, edit through a requested new revision rather than the locked attempt.
