Troubleshooting & current limitations

Resolve sign-in, membership, code, lesson, and permission problems.

Updated October 4, 2026

Sign-in does not open the workspace

Read the error shown on the sign-in page. Confirm the email first, check the password and Caps Lock, and allow necessary cookies. If already signed in, select Continue. If a session expires, sign in again. Use Retry connection or Try again when a connection fails. General sign-in works with the same account as organization sign-in.

Missing confirmation or reset email

Check inbox and spam for the correct account email. Use /auth/check-email to request a new confirmation link or Forgot password? to request recovery. Expired links require a new link. If mail still does not arrive, report the issue to your school or platform operator; delivery depends on the configured account email service.

School or class is missing

Only approved, available organizations appear in organization search. A confirmed account without active membership must redeem an approved code, request membership, or ask an administrator to add it. A school role alone does not enroll a student or assign a teacher to a class. Check Learning community and ask the school to confirm the class association. A suspended organization or inactive membership loses access.

Code does not work

Check that it is the correct code type and entered completely. School/class codes must be approved, unexpired, not full, and not revoked. Parent linking codes are single-use and expire after 48 hours. Ask an administrator for a replacement if needed. Codes cannot override an existing role or disabled membership. Never post a full code publicly when asking for help.

Assignment, save, or role error

A lesson may not be released yet or assigned to your class. If a save fails, keep the response page open and retry. If told a change saved but refresh failed, reload to see the record before repeating the action. A revision at the attempt limit needs teacher help. A protected membership or linked-role error requires the administrator to resolve the underlying class/family links. Typing a different role in the URL does not change your permissions.

Features not yet enabled

Email assignment/feedback alerts, read/unread notification preferences, automated invitations and CSV roster imports are not enabled. External SSO requires real provider configuration and review before activation. Adding a confirmed membership does not send an invitation. Public curriculum topics are planned outlines; presentation and worksheet resources remain in development. Empty classrooms and reports are expected until your organization adds real records.

Ask for help safely

Students and parents should start with their teacher or school administrator. Staff can contact the YFLP operator using the published contact information when available. Include the page, approximate time, exact error text, and the action attempted. Leave out passwords, access codes, private student responses, and sensitive financial details. The Contact page does not currently send inquiry messages.

Your verified membership determines access. Instructions describe the current platform; school policies may add requirements.
